CANYONING COURSE LEVEL 2 PYRENEES, 7-14/5/2022
The canyoning training level 2 in Spain takes place in Ainsa. This small town at the foot of the Pyrenees is considered by many locals to be the center of canyoning in the north. Not far from here are many exciting gorges, the most famous is probably the Escuain Canyon, a gigantic gorge that turns into an insurmountable wild river after rainfall.
After you have successfully completed Level 1, you are now ready for further learning steps:
- Opening and closing of stands under load
- Abseiling over knots
- Guided abseiling on the Rappel Guide
- Ascent on the rope
- Use of throw bags in strong currents
- Swimming in strong currents
- Pulley blocks
- Cut and extend the rope
- Diving, sliding, jumping
This includes the following theoretical units:
- Material science: Shunt, cape knife, Micro Traxion, Tibloc, throwbag
- Meteorology
- geology
- Material science: diving mask
As the grand finale of your course week, we will go on a fascinating tour together, in which you will be solely responsible for part of the tour. Of course, once again with my assistance, if that should be necessary.

I will train some of the more complex rope techniques as well as rescue techniques on a practice bridge. This enables a high repetition rate and simultaneous learning. In addition, everyone can concentrate on what does not yet work one hundred percent. After the course you can take part in a refresher week level 1 or 2 at any time, you only pay for the regular canyoning holiday. This ensures that you can repeat what you have learned from time to time under expert supervision and thus receive one or two fine-tuning.
