The UK Canyoning Association will be running a canyoning symposium in 7th – 10th September around Ingleton, Yorkshire.
This is a great opportunity to meet up with lots of canyoneers from all over the UK and abroad, go canyoning, share skills and experiences and enjoy a beer or two

On the evenings of the 7, 8 & 9 September we will have exclusive use of the Falls Cafe and Bar. This awesome space will be the ideal place to get back from a days canyoning and share experiences and a few drinks and food.

What is the UKCA Canyoning Symposium?
The UK Canyoning Association canyoning symposium could also be called a rendezvous or a festival. It’s a long weekend event where lots of canyoners, commercial providers and people interested in canyoning can come together, socialise, share experiences and go canyoning. There will be lots of opportunities to meet friends, make new ones and have lots of mild mannered fun. There will be evening entertainment at a local venue with a bar and food supplied. Equipment stalls and industry suppliers will be in attendance. There will be practical workshops and talks from industry experts throughout the weekend.
How much is the symposium?
A ticket to the event is £TBC£. There are a limited number of tickets available.
What’s included in the ticket?
The ticket price includes access event and evening venues (which will be exclusive to ticket holders) The ticket also includes:-
•Access to the base camp and evening venues.
•Access to practical workshops and talks.
•UKCA Symposium t-shirt.
•UKCA Cap.
•Buffet BBQ evening meal on Friday/Saturday night (including a drink).
•Evening entertainment inc bands and DJ.
•Discount on guided trips and equipment hire (for non autonomous canyoners).

Is accommodation included?
Accommodation is not included in the ticket price. It is up to you or your group to organise your own accommodation during the symposium.
Who can attend the symposium?
Anyone can attend the symposium who has an interest in canyoning. Generally it’s geared up for people who are independent in canyoning or have taken a training course and have some experience. If you have limited or no experience there will be limited places on guided trips and equipment hire will be available (at an additional cost). As a minimum you should be comfortable around water and heights and have a reasonable level of fitness.
If you wish to attend the symposium and are not interested in going canyoning but would like to be involved with the event, evening events and activities you are more than welcome to buy a ticket and come along.
Am I insured during the Symposium?
No, the symposium organisers and the UKCA hold no liability for your own personal, recreational canyoning. It’s your responsibility to have your own sport insurance cover. Unless you are with a professional guide under a commercial provider’s insurance.
If I don’t have much experience can I join a group and go canyoning with them?
There will be lots of teams going out each day. Each team will allocate their own team leader. If the team leader is happy to take responsibility for you you can happily join their team. Be aware different canyons have a different level of challenge and difficulty, make sure you are comfortable with which canyon you are doing and the team leaders/groups ability to ensure your safety. If in doubt you can join a commercial guided trip.
